Invited speakers are from the disciplines of Gynaecology, Urology, Colorectal Surgery, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Dietetics, demonstrating the learning opportunities available to members of the multidisciplinary community of CFA.

World Continence Week 2016

World Continence Week is an initiative of the International Continence Society and is coordinated in Australia by the Continence Foundation.

World Continence Week 2016 was held from June 20-26. 

This year’s theme is Improve your bottom line, encouraging people to adopt healthy bladder and bowel habits to prevent and improve incontinence. World Continence Week will be launched at a breakfast in Melbourne on Friday, June 17, showcasing the Continence Foundation's 2016 project, Finding the answers: improving access to continence information

Core Foundations

Core Foundations is a one-day workshop for personal trainers, group exercise instructors, and anyone working in the fitness industry. Presented by fitness leader Marietta Mehanni and physiotherapist Tory Toogood interactive session will combine anatomy with practical demonstrations and useful imagery to encourage activation of the pelvic floor muscle.

Continence Promotion: The Importance of the Midwife

23rd National Conference on Incontinence

The 23rd National Conference on Incontinence was held in Cairns on 10-14th September, which was a joint conference between the Continence Foundation of Australia, International Children’s Continence Society, and the UroGynaecological Society of Australasia.

The scientific program was designed to provide an exciting range of joint interactive plenary sessions and workshops, offering state-of-the art scientific evidence specific to bladder and bowel dysfunction across the ages. National and international experts showcased the latest research in bladder and bowel dysfunction, combined with a comprehensive trade exhibition. Delegates enjoyed the rare opportunity to hear international keynote speakers such as Professor Linda Cardozo OBE, Professor Piet Hoebeke, Professor Marc Benninga, Associate Professor Margareta Dahl, Professor Alexander von Gontard and Professor Linda Brubaker providing expert insight into the latest treatment and management options for incontinence across the age spectrum.

 

CFA SA Annual General Meeting

The CFA SA Branch held it’s AGM on 4th November 2013 with a great turnout of many familiar and new faces; it was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with colleagues and celebrate the branches activities over the past year. Nicholas Lee, Founder and CEO of The Jodi Lee Foundation, which exists to significantly reduce the prevalence of bowel cancer in Australia, gave an inspiring presentation. Barry Cahill attended the AGM, which showed great support from CFA National.
